Preziosa Young 2021
PREZIOSA YOUNG
13 November – 11 December 2022
From 13 November until 11 December 2022 you can see art jewellery by the award winners of Preziosa Young (Florence, Italy) edition 2021:
Xinia Guan from China,
Anne Lahn Hornbæk Hansen from Denmark,
Pilynn Siriphanich from Thailand,
Charlotte Vanhoubroeck from Belgium and
Zhipeng Wang from China.
The opening party will be held on Sunday 13 November 2022 from 15.00 hrs at Galerie Door.
Since 2008, LAO (Le Arti Orafe, a jewellery school in Florece, Italy) has organized the exhibition “Preziosa Young”, dedicated to emerging artists selected through an international competition. The aim is to contribute to the circulation of what is new in research jewellery, as well as showcase what the new generations of goldsmiths/designers/artists are “brewing”.
For the 2021 edition, Doreen Timmers, art historian and owner of Galerie Door, along with six other professionals, has been asked to judge the entries. The 2021 edition, in which only young (under 35 and graduate) artists can participate, features five international winners: Xinia Guan from China, Anne Lahn Hornbæk Hansen from Denmark, Pilynn Siriphanich from Thailand, Charlotte Vanhoubroeck from Belgium and Zhipeng Wang from China.
Among these five young artists, the jury judged the process of making and researching, the experimentation with techniques and materials, and the final piece of art jewellery itself as best and strongest.
Stop by and make yourself acquainted with the work of these young talents.
This is the first time that the international traveling exhibition Preziosa Young is on display in the Netherlands. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Sunday 13 November 2022 at 3 p.m. at Galerie Door. Alice Rendon (one of the Italian organizers) and several prize winners will be present at the opening. You are cordially invited to attend.
