Flowers and Wolves

Opening FLOWERS AND WOLVES and 5th anniversary Galerie Door
11 September 2022

On Sunday 11 September 2022 at 15.30 hrs. the exhibition FLOWERS AND WOLVES by Philip Sajet and Violeta Adomaitytė opens at Galerie Door in Mariaheide. Simultaneously with the opening, Galerie Door celebrates its 5th anniversary. Reason for a party. Menno Roozendaal, Alderman of Culture (municipality of Meijerijstad) will open the exhibition and with it the party.
You are cordially invited to be present.

The work of Philip Sajet Violeta Adomaitytė and in the exhibition FLOWERS AND WOLVES tells about vulnerability, beauty and seduction.
The work of Philip Sajet (1953 Amsterdam, The Netherlands) looks sleek and classic. Many of his pieces seem to have been borrowed from regal predecessors and his craftsmanship is phenomenal. Philip Sajet has created a series of new works especially for this exhibition, and one thing is certain: the classic form, whether the material or the appearance, is in conflict with the form or the representation. Seduction and temptation, a forbidden fruit, Sajet’s work is ‘close to perfection’.
The designs of Violeta Adomaitytė (1987 Šiauliai, Lithuania) are at least as perfect in execution, only more subdued in appearance. Her work is graceful and almost nimble. Yet there is also something mysterious hidden in her jewellery. Even if it is only angular branches and the deep grey, almost black, niello that give it away.

You are most welcome!
