The work of Camile Smeets brings an ode to life and beyond. Her clay sculptures are figurative yet alienating, surreal. Camile Smeets’s work mainly concerns a search for an original, a primal, visual language. “My images are dreams in clay. My sculptures are the result of a search, a voyage, a discovery through my personal experience that gives me access to a long gone by era. I give form to the archetypal stories and narratives.”
