Amber & Leonardo

Amber & Leonardo * is an international jewellery project traveling through Europe. The project started last year in Gdansk, Poland, moved to London and now reaches Galerie Door in Mariaheide. You will be treated to wonderful works of art by 30 renowned artists of both Dutch and international origin. All of these artists share that they are inspired by the marvelous material amber and the Italian artist, inventor and homo universalis Leonardo da Vinci – a combination that will take you back to 15th century Florence and forth to our own times again!

Mini Workshop
Especially for the Amber & Leonardo show the Polish artist Giedymin Jablonski made a ‘silver point’, a rare renaissance utensil. This silver object is said to be the da Vinci’s favourite drawing tool. During your visit at Galerie Door you can experience Leonardo’s pet tool yourself and find out how this silver instrument works.
